Training

Amalgamated Roofing places great importance on having properly trained and accredited personnel. Our people are our business.

This is an important guarantee to customers at a time when trade skills are in short supply across New Zealand. We employ tradesmen who are on a par with those in other skilled trades.

Most employees (including business owner Donald Trott) have attained NZQA certification in Roofing - Metal Roofing and Cladding, and NZ15757 working at heights certification. This has given our tradesmen new skills and has turned them into problem solvers.

Amalgamated Roofing continuously has trainees on two-year courses. This is an investment in the future of the business in the industry. It guarantees skill levels and makes guys accountable for what they do.

We will soon be the only roofing company in Rotorua to have 90% of the workforce NZQA approved.

Safety

Roof work has obvious potential dangers.

Amalgamated Roofing has invested a great deal of time and money to eliminate these risks by having adopting the best safety practices using the best equipment.

· Amalgamated Roofing is Sitesafe certified.

· Our employees are height-safety trained.

· We work closely with OSH as we constantly strive to develop even better safety practices.

· We have even designed our own tools for some situations, for example hook ladders for steeply pitched roofs and new safety brackets for harnesses. All such equipment is submitted for an official safety rating.
